Bronze & SRC Information Session

We will be holding an information session on the “new” Bronze & SRC this Sunday 14th November at 08:30 am 

At this session, we will be discussing the assessments and requirements of the Bronze and SRC courses. 

FAQ: 

1. How old do I need to be?

To gain your Surf Rescue Certificate you need to be 13+. To gain your bronze medallion you need to be 15+ 

2. When are we training?

At TOBSLSC we know everyone has busy lives, so we try to accommodate all. Generally, we will be training on 

  • Saturday 20 November and Saturday 27 November- 8:30-11:30am 
  • Saturday 04 December and Saturday 11 December- 8:30-11:30am 

Trainees are also encouraged to attend each Sunday to progress their training especially once nippers restart in December. 

Depending on the needs of the group we can also add mid-week dry sessions to assist with theory or any other information you require. 

Please note that large amount of the theory assessments are now online. 

3. What about COVID? 

  • All trainers and candidates must be double vaccinated to attend training sessions. This will be sighted by one of our trainers at your first session. 
  • PPE is available for use, and we will continue to follow NSW health guidelines. 

4. What do I need to do? 

  • Apply for club membership (see our website for how to join & fees
  • Complete a pre-requisite swim* (SRC candidates must swim 200 metres in 5 minutes & Bronze 400 metres in 9 Minutes.)

*Please note we will organise a pool swim proficiency as a group (15-19 November).
