Membership of Taree Old Bar Surf Life Saving Club in now open and we are excited to have you aboard. Those joining our club now will be registering for the 2024-2025 Season.
The club has received a Surf Life Saving NSW Cost of Living Relief grant to provide a one-off reduction in our membership fees for season 2024/25.
MEMBERSHIP TYPES & PRICES
ACTIVE PATROLLING MEMBER*: $25
The club has received a Surf Life Saving NSW Cost of Living Relief grant to provide a one off reduction in our membership fees for season 2024/25.
This is for members who can commit to the patrol roster, be proficient and assist at a minimum of 75% of rostered patrols and assist in non rostered public holiday patrols.
Members can either be Bronze, IRB, First Aid or Radio qualified.
Patrol members receive full access to all surf club facilities, including the gym. Additional benefits of being a patrolling member include discounted bar & hall hire prices, catering during extended patrols, free uniforms and PPE as well as free access to upskilling and further awards.
Active patroller include:
- Active 18+
- Active 15-18
- Cadet 13-15 * (When SRC Qualified)
- Award Members
Life Members are just required to register online with SLSA. We will process from there.
RESERVE ACTIVE & LONG SERVICE PATROLLERS: $25
The club has received a Surf Life Saving NSW Cost of Living Relief grant to provide a one off reduction in our membership fees for season 2024/25.
This is for members who are unable to commit to a patrol roster, but are keen to be involved when able. For example assisting in water safety, patrol substitutions, Non rostered patrols and general assistance.
Membership is $25 which covers uniforms, insurances and access to free courses. It also includes discounted bar & hall hire purchases.
PLEASE NOTE:- Reserve Active or Long Service patrollers do not qualify for free Gym Access. Should a reserve active or long service patroller wish to access the gym they must pay the Gym Memberships costs as detailed below.

This is for new members who will be looking to undertake a Bronze or SRC qualification. Once the qualification is complete it is expected that they will join the patrol roster and therefore qualify for all the perks and requirements of an active membership including full access to all facilities including the gym, discounted bar & hall hire prices, food during extended patrols, uniforms, reimbursement for all up-skilling and all PPE.

This membership is people who assist at the club. Be it helping on a fundraising committee, cleaning, BBQing, assisting in the bar or being an Age Manager.
These are club workers with an active role. We are open to discussing ways people may be able to become involved in this capacity. Associate membership is an agreement between the executive and the member.
Membership is $25, which will include full access to all facilities including the gym, discounted bar & hall hire prices, club shirts, reimbursement for all up-skilling and all PPE.
SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP (Community membership): $25
The club has received a Surf Life Saving NSW Cost of Living Relief grant to provide a one off reduction in our membership fees for season 2024/25.
This membership is for those in the community who wish to be members and support the club, but are not able to contribute to an active role in the club. This membership is classified as a Social Membership.
Community Members do not get access to the gym or club facilities but will be privy to club emails, discounted Bar & Hall Hire Prices and information about all upcoming activities and events.
NIPPERS/JUNIOR ACTIVITIES MEMBERSHIP (5-13 YEARS): $25
The club has received a Surf Life Saving NSW Cost of Living Relief grant to provide a one off reduction in our membership fees for season 2024/25.
Our Nippers is $25 per child. At Taree Old Bar every age group not only has a qualified age manager, but we work hard to ensure that each group has a qualified life saver as an instructor, which helps to teach nippers about beach safety and navigating the ocean. Nippers are also required to:
- Have a parent join as a member ($25 - Junior Activity Parent)
- Have a Club Cap and Rash Shirt ($30) - to be collected and paid for on gear collection days
Returning Nippers are encouraged to use their Cap and High-Vis Pink Rashie from last season.
JUNIOR ACTIVITY PARENT (Associate general membership): $25
The club has received a Surf Life Saving NSW Cost of Living Relief grant to provide a one off reduction in our membership fees for season 2024/25.
As a requirement of nippers, one parent must register per family. This covers us for insurances when involved in activities.
Community Members do not get access to the gym or general club facilities (except on nipper days). Community members can upgrade to probationary/reserve active.
GYM MEMBERSHIP: $250 per year
All memberships are valid for 12 months. Membership Anniversary is from your induction date.
Gym Membership allows access to our current Gym Facilities and equipment. Gym members are not required to be active in any aspect of the club, but will be privy to all club emails and communication.
New Gym members must be inducted and sign an agreement. Contact gym@tareeoldbarsurfclub.com.au to join.
These members are issued a FOB for access to the facility from 5am-10pm, 7 Days per week. For more information please visit our Gym Page.
Please note that Gym Only Members must be 16 years or older.

Membership is completed online through Surf Life Saving Australia. Please note that if you have any issues with setting up your members portal and registration - you should first contact the IT Helpdesk. Our club has a limited ability to assist.

Working With Children Check
WHAT OTHER INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?
- Members are encouraged to please ensure they add their WWCC (Working With Children’s Check) and USI (Unique Student Identifier) to their membership application.
- After applying please email the club to notify us of your registration, payment and any question you may have regarding your membership.
